Just Me V V's Virtual World

So I post again.

Only it’s with a heavy heart to announce that, at around 3pm US EDT, Wanda – this beautiful lady you all know as Veronica Ogleby – passed away.

I don’t know what else to say folks.

As many of you know, Veronica has been fighting ovarian cancer in real life – a particularly vicious cancer that claims more than half its victims.  We had thought the disease was gone last September – CT scans and blood markers showed good signs.  However, this past March we found that such was not the case.  It was hoped that Veronica would be able to receive more chemo to fight off this new attack – but that hope waned. She was not healthy enough to get it and – as time wore on – it appeared she would not gain health.

A week ago – May 5 – V’s appetite began to wane and – as the week progressed, she ate less and less.  She also began to drink less and – Wednesday – she was put on IV fluids to rehydrate her.  However there is concern that too much IV will backup in her lungs and drown her so they’ve been playing a fine line.

Yesterday, Mother’s Day, she began to drop in and out of sleepiness, progressing as the day went on.  My daughter and I got her back into bed last night and that is where she will probably stay – in bed.  She is mostly sleeping with moments of wakefulness, and when she talks what she says often isn’t understandable.

For the past few weeks V was trying to work on a goodbye for this blog, but she had trouble being able to maintain her attention on it.  So I am here on her behalf.  I know that she has missed this work…missed the fun of SL fashion, and she was hoping that she could get better and return to it.  But that will most likely not happen.

As things progress, I will try to return here to post news.  I don’t know what else to say.  Everyone asks what they can do and there is nothing left to do but wait and hope.

I know she would ask me to tell you she loves all of you and to wish you all the best, so please take that as being from her.

Hello everyone,  I am Sean Qendra – Veronica’s real life husband and I am here posting in V’s stead in response to this blog: Best of SL

For those who have not read it, this is a “Fashion For Life 2012 Blogger Hall of Shame” written by Nave Madison Fall for the purpose of listing persons who “…took advantage of Harper Bereford’s trust and got the goodies but couldn’t be bothered to do even one post…“.  If you look at the list he enumerates, there is V’s name at the bottom of the list:

Now, I believe that there are those who would do such a thing as take advantage of someone for their own gain.  But I also believe that – before you accuse someone of doing so you should gather your facts to determine if they are, indeed, possibly guilty.  I know for a fact Fall did not do so where Veronica was concerned.

Those of you who know V know that she loves the blog – from reading them to writing them; from blogging about 52 weeks of color to just whimsical “out of the blue” blogs.  She is into this communication heart and soul.

So why did she not post her FFL blog?  Why did she not post her 52 weeks blog or any blog for that matter?  Is there some reason she hasn’t done so?  Some reason that has caused her to fall off the blogosphere map?

Why yes there is.  For the past two months, V has been in and out of hospitals for stomach problems that has been diagnosed as a bowel obstruction.  And one week ago yesterday, on March 15th, when a surgeon went in to take a look at her intestines, he found that her cancer was back – that it had wrapped itself around her bowels and was the cause of her obstruction…that it was THE reason that she has been in extreme pain for the past few months – pain that has required strong meds to fight it, and kept her mind off of trying to do anything let alone blog.  And is the reason that she is now in the care of a rehab facility trying to regain her strength.

All he had to do was ask: “why haven’t you posted yet, V?“  Yet in all of Veronica’s email accounts, there is not one single email from a Nave Madison Fall asking that question.

So it’s apparent that Fall rushed to post something simply to put his name in the field for his share of fame and fortune in the guise of doing good, which – IMHO – is on par with those who would take advantage of of someones trust to get all the goodies…

Take your blog and shove it up your angry arse, Fall.  I’m sure, somewhere in SL, you will find a good animation for it.

The Marigold Winter coat by Slink is something I would so wear in RL, I love the fits, and made me feel really warm.
